Shalom Bayit, Hebrew for “Peaceful Home”, is a Seattle-based furniture bank that provides donated furniture to women and children escaping domestic violence situations. They partnered with Seattle-based TrashBusters junk removal to furnish the homes for those most in need. The Shalom Bayit program is part of the National Council of Jewish Women (Seattle Section) . Servicing King County, according to their website, ninety-seven percent of their clients are not Jewish, and come from a wide variety of ethnic, racial, religious and economic backgrounds.
